HELLO FRIENDS.. WE HAVE MADE THIS PAGE SO YOU CAN BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW TO USE THIS FORUM. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE FOLLOW ALL RULES HERE TO MAKE SURE ROOM RUNS SMOOTHLY AND ALSO TO HELP YOU AVOID BEING BANNED FROM THIS BID ROOM.
1). IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW, THAT WHEN THIS ROOM WAS FIRST STARTED WE DIDNT HAVE AS MANY RULES AS WE DO NOW, EVERYDAY NEW PROBLEMS AROSE AND THATS HOW EACH RULE WAS CUSTOMIZED FOR THIS BID ROOM.. TO MEET EVERYONES NEEDS AND BEST INTEREST OF THE GROUP HERE IN A WHOLE.

2).WE ARE FELLOW FRIENDS AND TRADERS PLEASE RESPECT ONE ANOTHER, TREAT OTHERS HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.

PROPERLY SETTING UP YOUR CHATANGO ACCOUNT :

EVERYONE who choses to post messages/links in the bid room is required to be logged into a Chatango account and include a valid/accurate FFS link in their Chatango profile (preferably in the smaller "about me" portion of the profile that can be seen from the bid room)

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHATANGO ACCOUNT: please set up an account at http://chatango.com/, add a picture, add your FFS link to the smaller "about me" box next to your picture, and click "save profile"
If you already have a Chatango account, but need to add your link, you can also click on the icon/photo next to your username when you make a post. That will take you to your Chatango page, where you can click edit, add your FFS link to the smaller "about me" box next to your picture, and click "save profile"
You will know it worked if you go back into the bid room, hit refresh several times, post a test message, hover your mouse over your icon/photo next to your username, and see your link in the pop up box that appears
That way, whenever you post in the bid room, people will know who you are. We like to know who we are bidding and trading with.

LINKS APPROPRIATE FOR POSTING

Pets must have been ONLINE WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS ("one day" means it is older than 24 hours)

There are lots of pets out there.... try to only post ones that you yourself would be willing to have on your wall at a higher value
If you locate a pet in HOT BUYS, or see that the pet was just put on sale, you must LABEL THE LINK as HOT BUYS or HB. Hot buy pets can RAPIDLY jump high in price. Bid with caution!
DO NOT POST PETS THAT ARE LABELED NOT FOR SALE (NFS). Whether the pet is marked not for sale (nfs) in the nickname, the about me, or both... as long as there is a NFS, then do not post the pet for bidding
DO NOT POST CHILDREN!  Even if the account holder is an adult, if the picture is of a kid, no bid. Age can be difficult to determine. If it is questionable, do not post
Do not post pets that are uninstalled or in friends only mode. This can be difficult to determine, so just try your best to avoid it. If another player posts an uninstalled or friends only pet, please inform the room quickly and succinctly. There is no need for multiple people to verify
DO NOT REPOST THE SAME PET REPEATEDLY!  Wait at least an hour before posting your pet again if no one was interested the first time. If you try several times throughout the day and no one is interested, take the hint!
DO NOT repost a pet as soon as bidding stops/slows down. If you really feel the pet deserves to go higher in value but got lost among other posts, wait a little while and then explain why you are reposting it.
Please note: when you follow a link in Chatango, that link you just followed replaces the current content of your clipboard. So, please verify that you have pasted the correct NEW link that you want to post to the bid room BEFORE you send it
DO NOT POST YOURSELF!  Everyone should have their FFS link in their "about me" section of their Chatango profile. If people want to find you, they can.
Sometimes people will locate OPEN RESET pets. This means that someone has reset the pet, but not taken precautions to limit who can bounce the pet back up. Sometimes the resetter will buy the pet back, but sometimes they will not. As with any links posted, BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!  Posting an open reset pet is NOT a cover or a promise to buy it back. In the end, someone must wind up with the last bid. Open resets can RAPIDLY jump high in price. Bid with caution!
Please only post pets online within the past 24 hours. Worthwhile dead pets can be posted, along with a description, at http://prettydeadpets.chatango.com/

No BUY/RAISE/RESET/WISHLIST begging

Do not post yourself up for bidding. Do not ask people to buy you. Do not even joke about it
Do not beg people to buy you, your pets, or your friends
Do not ask people to reset you, your pets, or your friends
If you are looking to find a legitimate reset partner, you may post all in ONE message that 1) you are looking for reset partner(s), 2) the reset level(s), 3) the type(s) of reset you are hoping to do, AND 4) how people may contact you PRIVATELY. If people respond in the bid room, please quickly direct the responses to PRIVATE communication

Do not ask people to wishlist you, your pets, your owner, your friends, or anyone else. If you wish to exchange wishlists with people, please post on their FFS walls or visit http://exchangewishlists.chatango.com/

CHAT LESS/TRADE MORE

The majority of posts should be LINKS up for bidding
Try to limit non-link messages to comments relevant to bidding

Any comments that are made should be in ENGLISH ONLY please

General greetings/farewells are acceptable, but please do not take up numerous lines with individual posts to each player (in other words, forget the "Walton's Game"... saying good night to each person in the house including John Boy)

Please take one-on-one/personal/extended conversations/flirting/small talk to private chat or other chat rooms

The bid room is NOT a place to air personal grievances against someone

SHOW RESPECT to other users of the room (including the people there for bidding only)

COVERS

Covers are promises that the POSTER will buy the pet back at a certain price
Post the pet's link and the covered value in one line

ALL covers in this room must be on ACTIVE pets only (pets online within the past 24 hours)

ALL covers in this room must be based on the Pet's VALUE (not buy price)

If VALUE remains LESS than the covered amount, the POSTER must buy the pet back

If the cover was OVERSHOT, then the poster DOES NOT have to buy back - even if the pet is put on sale to bring the price back down

Example: if someone posts a cover of 200 mil, and bidding stops with someone else owning the pet with a value of 199,999,999 or LESS, then the POSTER must buy the pet back. However, if the pet's value is 200,000,000 or MORE, then the poster is NOT obligated to buy back

DO NOT TRUST COVERS POSTED BY ANONS OR USERS WITHOUT THEIR FFS LINK IN THEIR CHATANGO PROFILE

Please only post covers on ACTIVE pets, and only on the pet's VALUE. Older covers can be posted at http://coverposts.chatango.com/

Covers are GAMBLES for both the bidders AND the person covering. Many post a covered price in the hopes that bidding will continue past that price. Some people may CHOSE to buy back over the cover price, but no one is obligated to buy back once the cover has been overshot, even if it is only overshot by a dollar or by landing on the exact cover amount

Covered pets can RAPIDLY jump high in price. Bid with caution!

PLEASE NOTE: the guidelines for no reposting of pets applies to covers as well. NO CONTINUOUS COVERS! That means: if you post a cover for a pet in the attempt to offload the pet onto someone else but you end up still owning that pet at the end of the cover, you must still wait at least an hour before posting a new, higher cover for that pet. However, if someone posts the link for a pet with no cover on it, and you decide that you would like to cover that pet, you may post it ONCE with ONE cover amount on it... this will not be considered a repost.

DO NOT POWERBID IN THIS BID ROOM!

Powerbidding is inappropriate to use on links posted in this room
Unforunately, there is nothing we can do to prevent the people who view this room powerbidding. Powerbidders do get banned from the room if they post, but with the way that Chatango works, they can still view and access the links posted
When powerbidders are around, pets can RAPIDLY jump high in price. Bid with caution!
The best way to combat powerbidding is to not bid. Without other people bidding, the powerbidders get stuck with the pets themselves
Nothing is wrong with powerbidding in hotbuys... where everyone is doing the same thing. But in this room we are trying to be fair to each other, not get a fellow trader stuck with a pet at an overly inflated high price because people are greedy to make fake cash
WHAT IS POWERBIDDING? Powerbidding is a method of rapidly bidding on a pet. It can be done by hand, which is acceptable to use in other situations in FFS (i.e. re-raising a reset pet, bidding in hot buys, bidding in rooms where powerbidding is allowed). Powerbidding can also be done with scripts and programs. These scripts and programs are NOT allowed by FFS, and can result in person being banned from FFS if caught.

RESOLVING ISSUES IN THE BID ROOM

You do not need to be a moderator in order to provide help and guidance to bid room users or to help maintain order
If issues arise in the bid room while there are no moderators present, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO HELP RESOLVE THE SITUATION without escalating it. Provide informational posts about the bid room rules/guidelines, and point people to this expanded list. This assistance is also appreciated even if there is a moderator present in the room
If the issues persist, please gather all relevant information and contact a moderator as soon as possible
Take a screen shot of the bid room history or copy the individual messages. Save the Chatango usernames and FFS links of the players and pets involved. Note the date and time when the issue occurred (and please indicate your time zone... we have players from all over the world). Provide a complete description of what happened
Scammers and troublemakers can also be FLAGGED. Look for this option next to the date in the person's post
TROUBLEMAKERS can and will be banned after the fact if the issues can be verified and the posts found in the history

BANS

EVERYONE is expected to follow ALL of the rules and guidelines if they choose to use this forum
People who chose to post in the bid room, but fail to follow the bid room rules, guidelines, and moderators can and will be banned
Room users will be asked or reminded to follow the rules. They may receive second requests/reminders and/or warnings. If they still refuse to comply, they will be banned
Reasons for bans include: attempted scamming, abusive or disrespectful behavior, excessive chatting, persistent posting of inappropriate links, powerbidding, advocating breaking the bid room rules, intentionally disrupting the room, or failure to follow ANY of the rules, guidelines, or moderators for the bid room
Bans occur not only for acute problems, but also for chronic problems. If regulars to the room who are aware of the guidelines persistently need to be reminded of them, then they will lose access to posting
Bans can and will occur after the fact if inappropriate behavior is discovered in the history logs of the bid room
In addition to the bans conducted by moderators of the bid room, Chatango also has an auto-ban system. Chatango servers will auto-ban someone if it detects what it considers to be a ban evasion attempt: changing usernames and/or IPs. The moderators of the bid room have no control over who gets auto-banned. If reputable room users get caught in the auto-ban system, please contact us. With some work and cooperation from Chatango, we may be able to get the auto-ban list cleared. However, this process can take time, so please be patient
Chatango also has an automated system that restricts user access for a set length of time, usually 10 minutes. This is NOT a ban, and this it NOT anything that the moderators of the room have any control over. If you receive an automated message from Chatango that your access is temporarily restricted, please patiently refrain from attempting to post any messages for AT LEAST the length of time indicated. Attempts to post earlier may result in the length of the restriction being extended.

APPEALING BANS

If you were banned by a moderator for failing to follow the bid room rules and guidelines, you may appeal to have your bid room access reinstated
To appeal for reinstatement, write a letter acknowledging all of the reasons for the ban, apologizing for them, and agreeing to follow all rules/guidelines/moderators in the future
If you are unsure of all of the reasons for your ban, please POLITELY approach a room moderator who will look into it for you
All appeals for reinstatement will be reviewed, discussed, and voted on by the moderators of the bid room. Please be patient as this process may take time. Sometimes additional information needs to be gathered or not enough moderators are available in order to make a quick decision.
The person appealing a ban will be informed of the moderators' decision. If your ban is lifted, please consider yourself on probation. Players who are banned a second time have reduced chances of being reinstated again.
ALSO, this process is the same for every player banned. It doesn't matter what level of player you are or how much fake cash you have. We are all equal.
